Abbas Loved Ones confesses Jesus Christ as Lord and submits to the authority of Scripture as the inspired and infallible Word of God. We are committed to contend for the truth of the gospel in a culture of relativism that is progressively undermining the virtue of truth. For it is truth that sets us free (John 8:31-32). Jesus came that we may have life: He forgives our sins; He restores the brokenness of our lives; He heals our hearts. He is in the process of making all things new.

The gospel is the good news of what God, in love, has done in Jesus Christ to deal with our sin and to reconcile us to himself; God’s grace invading the darkness of this world. It is the grand narrative of creation, fall, redemption and consummation ordained by God and orchestrated through the life, death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ.

Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through him (John 14:6). Therefore, we desire the heart and ministry of ALO to always be grounded in the truth and power of the gospel (Romans 1:16).

Included below as part of our statement of faith is the historic Nicene Creed. We believe it to be an accurate representation of Scripture’s teaching:

Nicene Creed

We Believe in one God, the Father Almighty,
Maker of Heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God,
begotten of His father before all worlds,
God of God,
Light of Light,
very God of very God,
begotten, not made,
being of one substance with the Father;
by whom all things were made;
who for us and for our salvation came down from heaven,
and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary,
and was made man;
and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered and was buried;
and the third day he rose again according to the Scriptures,
and ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of the Father;
and he shall come again, with glory,
to judge both the living and the dead;
whose kingdom shall have no end.
And we believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son;
who with the Father and the Son together is worshiped and glorified; who spoke by the prophets;
and we believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church **
(That is, the church universal, throughout all of history);
we acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins;
and we look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.
